5th Grade Class

Visit to the United Nations, which acts as a culminating activity for ELA Module 1, Stories of Human Rights, where students study the articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).  Students travel to the UN to experience a guided tour which includes the articles of UDHR, the UN Disarmament exhibit, viewing of Norman Rockwell's "The Golden Rule" and a visit to the UN General Assembly. 


6th Grade Class


Picture
Students in 6th grade visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art to view Greek and Roman Artwork and discuss how these artifacts relate to the curriculum within Social Studies, Art, and from reading The Lightning Thief  by Rick Riordan in ELA.  In addition, on a separate day, students visit the Morton Wildlife Refuge in Sag Harbor and perform an experiment at the Brookhaven National Laboratory.
